MESA, Arizona – In the 11th annual Golfweek's Best Courses, the editors of Golfweek magazine named Longbow Golf Club to its list of "2009 Golfweek's Best Resort Courses."

"We are thrilled and honored to receive recognition from Golfweek," said Jay Larscheid, General Manager. "I think we all knew that Longbow would garner accolades such as this, and it's truly gratifying to have agreement from one of the golf world's most influential publications. We've simply stayed focused on our pledge to our guests to provide the highest standards in terms of service and playing conditions. It's obvious that this formula has paid off."

Longbow was ranked 89 out of 100, which, at first glance may seem a bit dubious. However, when one considers the caliber of golf clubs placed further up the list – Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Whistling Straits, to name a few – it's clear that Longbow has earned a place among golf's elite resort courses.

welcome to the longbow golf club

The new Longbow Golf Club was unveiled in the fall of 2003. Following a complete redesign with the addition of a striking new clubhouse, expanded acreage and totally revamped practice facility, Longbow, more than ever is a "must-play."

"It is truly unique and exiting to be given the opportunity to enhance a golf course that you are already very proud of," said Ken Kavanaugh, the original course architect who directed the redesign.

The new design improves upon perfection by lengthening the total yardage to 7,003 from the back tees, expanding the fairways and boosting par to 71. The intrigue and shot making choices that players will face are infinite. The distinctive new Arizona contemporary clubhouse is a one-of-a-kind structure that offers every amenity including a spacious outdoor event patio with fans, heaters, misters, outdoor kitchen and bar, enormous patio fireplace, convenient drive-up snack shop, cozy restaurant, and well-appointed golf shop.

The Verdict: Named in honor of the Native American weapon feared for its accuracy and length, has for a decade hosted the prestigious AJGA Heather Farr Classic. Ryder Cup player Hunter Mahan and LPGA sensation Paula Creamer have both won on the course.

Longbow Golf Club captures the essence of Arizona golf with a spectacular desert-style layout firmly tied to the traditions of the game. Purists appreciate Longbow's core-golf experience with short distances from green to tee that make walking a pleasure. In fact, Golfweek magazine honored Longbow in 2009 as one of the "Top 100 Resort Courses in the Country.
